Studio KERN was founded in January 2022 by Max Nissen and Prak Piakot, both accomplished product designers and creative directors based in Berlin. With a wealth of experience in product and communication design for local and international clients, Max and Prak have come together to explore their passion and interests through their own brand.

Max Nissen is a highly skilled media and product designer (BA) with a proven track record of working with various brands in the field of product design. He has been recognized for his outstanding work and was recently nominated for the German Design Newcomer Award in 2023. Max has also served as a tutor for rapid manufacturing technology at the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam and conducted research in the field of sustainable materials.

Prak Piakot completed his BA and MA in product design at the Weissensee Academy of Art Berlin. Among others, he has worked for stocubo, transparency international and studio Martha Schwindling. His studies have led him to exhibit his work at the Milan Furniture Fair and collaborate with several designers, including Carola Zwick, Hermann-August Weizenegger, Judith Seng and Nils Krüger. Prak received the Green Card 2020 for the young talent section of the Cologne Furniture Fair. Currently, he is responsible for projects at the non-profit organization Let us do something for Europe and works part-time for wormland.
